Residents of High Wycombe are the first in the UK to have access to this new and unique automated 24-hour prescription collection point that will enable patients to order & collect their prescriptions 24/7, 365 days of the year!

Designed and built entirely in Britain (Derbyshire to be exact!) the new collection point was recently installed at Downley Pharmacy and, after extensive testing, is now ready for use by anyone that does not want to be constrained by pharmacy opening times.

Downley Pharmacy is committed to meeting the changing needs of our customers. We recognise that modern life is pretty busy, which often makes remembering to order & collect yours or your loved ones’ medication challenging.

How does it work?

It couldn’t be simpler!

1. Order your prescriptions from your surgery in the usual way and ask your GP to send the prescriptions electronically to Downley Pharmacy
2. When your medicines are ready to collect you will receive a text with a unique 8 digit collection pin
3. Simply type the pin number into the machine and pay any charges via card (if you pay for prescriptions that is!) and the machine will kick into action & fetch your prescription within seconds!

While we continue to offer a free local delivery service, we understand that having to be in to accept delivery does not suit everyone. We felt that our patients should have the best of both worlds, the convenience of the service that internet pharmacies can offer, with the added benefit of the personal, face to face care that you can get from a healthcare professional at your community pharmacy.

If I use the collection point, can I still use the pharmacy during opening hours?

Yes. Please be assured we will still welcome your visits to the shop during opening hours and are not looking to reduce staff numbers in any way. In fact, we hope the service will increase our business and secure Downley Pharmacy’s future as a key pillar of the local community!

Are there items that can’t be collected from the collection point?

There are some items the collection point cannot be used for clinical or regulatory reasons, these include:

1. Controlled drugs like morphine, fentanyl, oxycodone etc
2. Drugs that need to be stored in a fridge (although we are working on this so watch this space!)
3. Very large bulky items
